The Golden Globes 2011 fashion round up - Age is just a number

While young Hollywood were wowing us in princess gowns and sexy mermaid dresses, the older ladies of the Hollywood scene were showing them how it's really done...

Age is just a number

When I grow up I want to look just like Dame Helen Mirren. When many women her age are reaching for the botox and hair dye, Helen Mirren kicks them out of the ball park. She's another woman who seems impervious to looking bad on the red carpet and get it right every time.

Definitaley the talk of the Golden Globes this year was Helena Bonham Carter. If I want to look like Helen Mirren, I want to be as cool as Helena Bonham Carter. While most bloggers and website were sticking Helena on the worst dressed list, I'm sticking her up there with Catherine Zeta Jones and Natalie Portman, simply for the confidence she displays every time she steps out on these events. Yes she may not be the most conventional dresser and she is wearing odd shoes, but I love that about her.

We're going for extremes here in this post. Tilda Swinton in all her androgynous glory, in a Jil Sander skirt. Usually I love Tilda's style but I can't quite get my head around this look. But that's just me.

Who says you can't wear hot pink on the red carpet? Julianne Moore looking stunning in a Lanvin one shoulder dress that goes amazing with her red hair.

She may not be as old as some of the ladies mentioned in the post but as a Hollywood veteran Nicole certainly fit the bill. As much as I love this Prada gown, Ice Queen Nicole makes it kinda meh this time. She is looking stunning as usual though.

Looking hot to trot in a Roberto Cavalli gown, age definitely is a number for Vanessa Williams.

More to come...

Keep on Wishing...
