Wishlist Item[s]...

[From top to bottom: 1, 2, 3]
All from New Look
[All photos via Pinterest]

I'll admit in the past year, but love for pretty, girl-y dresses has increased ten-fold. But I usually try to embrace my femininity quite subtly and attempt to steer away from looking like too '10 year old at a Princess party'. However, after spying two of these dresses at work yesterday I'll admit these dresses have got me counting down the days till payday. All three are just so lovely and ladylike, and if Blake Lively and Taylor Swift can embrace the Barbie pink, so can I! Plus if all of this sugary, pretty-ness (that's a word I swear...) is a little nauseating, there's nothing stopping me from pairing them with tough ankle boots and leather jacket.

Review: 'Aloe Eye Defence' The Body Shop

[Aloe Eye Defence, £9.50, The Body Shop]
So this is my first beauty review. Yay!
I'm quite simple when it comes to my skin routine but I recently started investing into some products from The Body Shop after getting my 'Love your body' card.
I have mildly sensitive skin and during the Summer [and sometimes during especially cold Winter months] experience very dry and tight skin around my eyes. Before I found this I mainly used Vaseline lightly around the eye area before bed but found it too heavy for general use.
I've used Aloe skin creams before so I decided to try out this one after reading some good reviews online. I've now been using it for about a week, both in the morning and before I go to bed, using a small amount under my eye and over the lid.
I am feeling some difference already, my upper eyelids and under eye areas feel less tight and more moisturised. The corner of my eye, where I experience the most dry-ness and irritation, is slowly soothing out but I think I'll need more regular usage for it to reach the standard of the rest of the area. The cream itself is light, actually feels quite refreshing once it's on and absorbs quickly.
The main advantage is no irritation, something that was very important when considering the area I would be using it on. The bottle is only 15ml for £9.50 [I also got some money off with my 'Love your body' card], but when you consider the tiny amount you'll need to use around the eye area I would say that it is worth buying.

Another bitty week of my Summer holidays. I did have a little bit of a splurge day out shopping with a friend on of mine on Tuesday. I headed over to the Urban Outfitters sale, not only bagging a new top but Model's Own Nail Art pens for £3! Boots were also doing a Buy one, get one Half Price on their Model's Own products. I've been dying to try out their nail polishes and I have to say I'm really impressed. There is definitely value is splashing out for a good quality nail polish as the one I've been sporting since Friday [Aqua Violet Beetlejuice], hasn't chipped at all. Nearly three days may not seem that impressive but you also have to take into account the fact that I was working yesterday and I'm a generally clumsy person when it comes to my nails. I also got a few new beauty buys too which I'm thinking of reviewing at some point once I've given them a fair chance.
I had a good clear out and organised my desk, shelves and Uni stuff. Feels so good throwing out things that I don't need anymore and it's always amusing finding old notebooks and school bits from yesteryear.

Wishlist Item...

Oversized 'Tillie' in Oak Soft Matte
£555 from Mulberry

I'm sure this isn't the first time I've sung praises for Mulberry on this blog. They're simply my favourite bag designers with their classic looking yet practical bags for every occasion. I was browsing their Sale section this week and eyed up their 'Tillie's. It's perhaps not the most famous style but its classicly chic look and 'go with everything' colour had me lusting over it bad. Can't really justify spending £500 on one at the moment though *le sigh*...one day!

I'll admit right now, I've been pretty lazy this week...hey I'm on holiday! Apart from work and a lunchtime catch up at Fire & Stone in Gunwharf Quays last Tuesday, which was beyond lush their country themed pizza's are amazing, I've mainly been at home.
I recently managed to get hold of Photoshop CS4 and have been playing around with my tablet doing fanart but also some design bits for my blog. I'm really trying to get on top of blog admin and design now that I've got all of this free time, and I'm finally getting used to using Photoshop again. So fingers crossed I'll give my blog a
little facelift soon!

Wear the runway trend now...60's inspired work wear at Carven

Images via Style.com

Whilst browsing blogs I came across a little post about the Carven Pre-Fall 2012 collection. As I'm looking for some nice work wear pieces for my placement in a few weeks so I fell pretty hard for every look. I love the smart 60's feel of the collection, especially the peter pan collared tops which can be dressed up or down. It's a overall classically chic look that's not likely to go out of fashion any time soon!

Recommended: Sawyer & Scout

In line with my New Year's Style Resolutions [yep remember those?] I thought I'd make it a feature out of recommended some of the coolest online shops run by fellow bloggers.
The first up is Sawyer & Scout, run by Erin. I'll admit this is a partly a cheat as I won a runner up prize in her giveaway last week, which was a pretty little set of handmade charm bracelets.
But rest assured I'll be heading over to snap up some items of my own. I've been a window shopper for her store for a while and am a big fan of her fandom pieces from The Hungers Games and Harry Potter. Her charm necklaces inspired by characters and quotes from the popular series are some of my favourites.

A bit of everything. The week began with the end of the Jubilee celebrations, a good ol' BBQ in the rain and much time spent watching all of the coverage on the TV. Not gonna lie I might not be British by birth but I was sure proud to have been raised in the UK after watching all the Jubilee bits.
I'm now fully into my Summer holiday and I'm trying to enjoy my free time before starting my placement in August. So I've mainly been working part time, catching up with friends and (rather foolishly perhaps?) getting into new fandoms.
I got my first red carpet fix for a couple of months from the MTV Movie Awards [check out my part 1 & part 2 reviews] I always miss staying up tracking Tumblr, Twitter and real time fashion bloggers once January finishes.
I also received a runner up giveaway prize from the lovely Erin from her amazing blog shop Sawyer & Scout. Everyone should also follow her blog, it's a regular read of mine and I'm normally fawning over her Weekly Style Inspiration posts.
And in terms of blogging news, I caved to the masses and splashed out on the Revlon Lip Butters in 'Creme Brulee'. I was apprehensive about buying them as I'm not usually one to be bothered about what goes on my lips but I really like them, I am looking towards getting a darker shade for nights out now. Consider me converted!
